How paper weight changes your postage bill

Dropping one paper weight can move a whole mailing into a cheaper weight band — often without anyone noticing the difference.

Weight bands

Postage is charged in weight steps, whichever carrier you use. A pack that is 2g over a step pays the higher price on every single item, so on a large run a small change adds up fast.

Lighter doesn't have to mean cheaper-looking

Moving from 170gsm to 150gsm silk, or using a bulkier stock that feels thicker at a lower weight, keeps the quality feel while cutting grams.

Reducing page count by four, or planning a brochure a little smaller while keeping the same shape, can drop a weight band too.
